My StoryIt all started in January 2006 and first of all I didn't think that I had to loose weight. I was just right as I was. Then my fiancé (Louis) joined a network marketing company and he started on the products. I was watching him but not prepared to join him. Two weeks later we attended a training seminar and we met our mentor. She had this little machine with her which measures your body fat percentage. Louis wanted his done straight away. I was a little bit apprehensive because I knew that my body fat might be high. I did it anyway and then OH MY GOD it was sky high. At that moment I decided that I was going to try the product – but only to lower my body fat and maybe I would lose some weight as well.
So I started my journey with ShapeWorks. The products tasted really great and there was a big advantage – I could replace one meal at work which was Great in itself because the food at work can be very challenging in taste, texture and nutrition. Before I started on the program I didn’t have breakfast and I learnt that if the body doesn’t get regularly nutrients it starts converting the food into fat and the same applies if one doesn’t drink enough. The body stores the fluids when it gets it.
So now I am replacing my breakfast and lunch with a delicious shake (they have all different flavors like tropical fruit, vanilla, choclate,…) and I drink lots of fluids but not coffee or black tea. I am not really fond of plain water but the program offers a few products to flavor the water and they all have some addional benefits. Eg Thermojetics Instant Herbal Beverage is a refreshing and uplifting drink which increases your metabolic rate. They jokingly call it the "Gym in the Bottle". The other drink I love is a Herbal Aloe Concentrate. It is a very refreshing drink which smoothes the digestive system and assists the natural self-cleaning action of the body. In between shakes or meals I have one or two fruits. In the evening we have a balanced and colourful meal.
And my progress? Well, I started off losing centimeters around my hips but I didn’t really lose any weight. Very slowly the weight went down. It wasn’t always easy. Some days I stuck to the program and some days I was really naughty. But I think the most important thing was that I just carried on regardless if I put on some weight or not. Now after 3 month I have lost around 6kg.
There is one thing nobody tells you when you start on the program. You have to buy new clothes. At the moment I have one pair of trousers that fits everything else is too big. So I am looking forward to a shopping trip!!
